Students MUST be out of Malaysia in order to obtain Visa Approval Letter (VAL)  by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. Students present in Malaysia at the time of application must EXIT Malaysia to obtain a student VAL (Visa Approval Letter). Immigration Department of Malaysia DOES NOT issue VAL (Visa Approval Letter) to students present in Malaysia.

  STEP-1 : Complete Your Documents

You need to complete your documents as listed in the Visa Application Documents checklist. Ensure that you have completed all the required documents before proceeding to the next step. Download Visa Application Documents Check List here

1- Britannia Student Application Form

2- Passport size photograph

1 passport size photograph with WHITE background (35mm x 45mm). Download Photo Guideline here

3- Copy of your Passport:

You will be required to submit a copy of your passport. Here’s what we need:

  • Your passport data page (bio-data page which shows your face, name etc) along with all pages including empty pages
  • Your passport MUST have a validity of minimum 24 Months at the time of application

4- Your academic certificates and transcripts

You will need to provide copies of all academic records including High School Certificate and Result Card (please note that your students visa application CAN NOT be submitted to Malaysian Immigration without High School Certificate and Result Card). All documents in language other than English must be officially translated into English. Original documents plus official English translation must be provided.

5- Pre-arrival Medical Declaration Form

  STEP-2 : Pay your Registration & Visa Processing Fees

Britannia will apply for your student Visa on your behalf through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). You will be required to pay the Registration and Visa processing fee.

Payment must be made in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) only.

Scan and send the receipt/transaction slip of the payment to applications@britannia.edu.my. (Your Name, Nationality and Passport Number must be written on the transaction slip scan) Please bring the original receipt for registrations purposes at Britannia Language Centre. 

Registration & Visa Processing Fees MYR 2000.00 (Two Thousand Ringgits Malaysia) equivalent to USD 500.00 (Five Hundred United States Dollars)  will cover the below:

  1.  EMGS Application Fee
  2. Six (6) Months Visa Fee to the Malaysian Immigration Department (Sticker Levy Fee)
  3. BRITANNIA Registration & Processing Fee
  4. Malaysian Government Personal Bond Stamping Fee
  5. i-Kad Fee + Insurance Card Fee
  6. Six (6) Months Medical Insurance Plan (AIA Silver Package) . Details on the medical insurance plan can be found here

  STEP-3 : Submit Your Documents

For international student and agents, kindly send minimum 300 DPI resolution scan of the above documents to applications@britannia.edu.my

Kindly bring along your original documents to Malaysia.

  STEP-4 : Check Your Visa Application Status Online

You may check the status of your visa application [within (2)days of your documents and payment submission] via https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/emgs/application/searchForm/

Once your application has been approved by the Malaysian Immigration Department, you will be able to download your Student Visa Approval Letter  at https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/emgs/application/searchForm/

  STEP-5 : Apply Single Entry Visa (SEV) to Malaysia

Upon obtaining  the Visa Approval Letter (VAL), you will need to apply a Single Entry Visa (if required) at the Malaysia Representative Office as stated on your Visa Approval Letter (VAL).

Students can apply for SEV online at https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/evisa/evisa.jsp

1- Students from qualified countries can get a Visa On Arrival at the Malaysian Border without applying for a Single Entry Visa. Countries which are NOT MENTIONED on the following list https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/guidelines/sev-required-countries.html,  can fly directly to Malaysia without a Single Entry Visa.

2- Students from visa required countries without a Malaysian Embassy / consular office must apply for a single entry visa at the Malaysian embassy / consular office in the nearest neighboring country.

3- Students from visa required countries which have a Malaysian Embassy / consular office must obtain a Single Entry Visa prior to their entry into Malaysia.

Please ensure that you check with the Malaysian Embassy or High Commission in your country before finalizing your travel plans.

IMPORTANT : All students must send their Flight Ticket to applications@britannia.edu.my three days before their flight for airport clearance and pick up. Please note students traveling to Malaysia on Student VAL can not clear the Malaysian Immigration Counters at the airport without Britannia representative.

  STEP-6 : Before Departure & Upon Arrival to Malaysia

Before Departure

IMPORTANT : You must complete MDAC – Malaysian Digital Arrival Card two days before your flight to Malaysia.

You must send your air ticket copies to emgs@britannia.edu.my 3 days before your departure date for airport clearance.

Please make sure you have the below documents with you before departing from your home country.

1. Your Original Passport
2. Your Visa Approval Letter (VAL)
3. A Single-Entry Visa (SEV) (if required for your country)
4. Yellow fever vaccination certificate (if required for your country)

Upon Arrival 

Once you have arrived in Malaysia, please ensure that the Special Pass endorsed by the Airport Immigration is for 30 days. Within 30 days, you will need to complete a few processes before getting the endorsement of Student Visa in your passport:

  1. Report to Britannia Marketing office to complete your registration and pay your tuition fees.
  2. Medical Checkup : Your post arrival Medical Checkup must be completed within 7 Days of your arrival to Malaysia, kindly note that Post Arrival Medical Checkup Fee is included in total fee.
  3. Submit your passport for endorsement of Student Pass

VISA APPROVAL LETTER EXPIRES (NO SHOW)

The validity of the Student VAL (Visa Approval Letter) is 6 months from the date of issue. Students are advised to travel to Malaysia before 2 months of Student VAL expiry. The Immigration department of Malaysia does not extend the validity of the Student VAL if it is expired. Students whose VAL has been expired, must re-apply for a new VAL.
